At BASIS Prague, school life goes far beyond lessons. Because children spend a big part of their day at school, we focus on creating an environment that’s engaging, welcoming, and fun. Through clubs, events, and shared experiences, students build confidence, discover interests, and feel part of a close community.
Smooth Starts & Summer Camps Starting school can be exciting and overwhelming. To help make that process smoother, BASIS Prague hosts thematic summer camps for preschool and school-age children. These one-week adventures welcome kids from our BASIS community, giving them the chance to meet teachers, make new friends, and settle in before the school year officially begins.
Children outside our BASIS community are also welcome to join, so siblings or friends can enjoy the adventure together. Want to get to know the school together with your child? Our cheerful Family Picnic on the first day of school brings everyone together.
School Clubs Our weekly clubs give students space to explore their interests. A few examples:
Football club in partnership with Prague Raptors Football Academy
French club for all proficiency levels
Math Explorers for problem-solving skills
Coding club using programs like ScratchJr, Matatalab, and Python.
Clubs are grouped by age and skill level, and the offer evolves each year. Current options are always listed on our website.

Events & Experiences Our teaching staff organizes Spirit Weeks that bring playful energy to our campuses—think colorful socks, funky hairstyles, and other small traditions that make school life sparkle. We also celebrate holidays like Halloween and Valentine’s Day, and host community events such as our Potluck Dinner. This is an opportunity for students to get to know the school’s international community, each family brings food from their country of origin, together we have dinner.

Students go on monthly field trips with the destination chosen based on the current academic material being studied. These trips have been to places such as museums, the planetarium, the zoo, and science centers such as Techmania in Pilsen.
At BASIS we’re committed to supporting our students across academic and creative disciplines. Students voluntarily participate in mathematics and science competitions and in recent years, several BASIS Prague artworks were selected among the Top 100 in the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Young Innovators Art Challenge: Tomorrow’s Journeys. These pieces were showcased at the United Nations in Geneva. In December, students perform for families through music, dance, and theatrical performances. Our preschoolers enjoy their own winter performance and a visit from St. Nicholas. The school also organizes an end-of-year performance to commemorate the end of another successful school year.
School in Nature & Swimming Camp
Every year, our oldest students trade their desks for forests, lakes, and open skies during School in Nature. At the Katlov complex, they explore freshwater ecosystems, practice outdoor survival skills, and even try fishing at Jakub Vágner’s complex, a well-known fisherman from the Czech Republic. Younger students attend the Swimming Camp, where they learn essential swimming skills, spend time in nature, and generally enjoy time together.

Giving Back Community service is an inseparable part of school life, and the BASIS Prague community partakes in a few charity projects during the school year. Students sell crafts, baked goods, art products, and other fun and unique items at our lively Spring Market, with proceeds going to a charity of the students choosing. Past projects have supported local animal shelters such as DOČASKY or have resulted in the adoption of a seal at the Prague Zoo. Beyond the classroom, these shared experiences enrich learning, strengthen our community, and create memories that stay with children long after the school day ends.
