A New Home for BASIS Prague: Discover Our Bubeneč Campus

This September, we will open a brand-new campus in Prague 6, which will become the new home of BASIS Prague. We are excited to share an inside look at the building that will soon shape the daily lives of our students, teachers, and the entire BASIS community.
This is about far more than walls and floor plans. It is about creating a place where students can grow academically, discover their talents, and build the skills they need for the future. Our new campus has been thoughtfully designed to support learning, creativity, and community at every step.

Academic Building & Grounds
The main building is the former Chilean Embassy, which has been completely renovated and reimagined to serve students of all ages. To make full use of the property, a two-story pavilion has been added, extending to the site's underground floor.
By using underground space, we have preserved a large garden, a playground, and outdoor seating areas close to the main building. Because of the natural slope of the land, the floors of the addition and the main building are slightly offset, creating a dynamic, multi-level campus layout.
Underground Floors
Underground Floor –2
The pavilion includes two underground floors and one above-ground floor. On the lowest floor, students will find a two-story gymnasium (190 m²) with a capacity of up to 200 people. The space is filled with natural light thanks to glass skylights that reach down from the ground floor. The gym will be equipped for gymnastics, volleyball, basketball, and other sports. Locker rooms and showers are also located on this floor.
In addition, several multifunctional rooms will be used for Music, Engineering, and Drama. These spaces are separated from the main classrooms, allowing students to move, create, and express themselves freely.

Underground Floor -1
One floor above, students will have access to secure lockers for their personal belongings. Just across in the main building, the cafeteria offers direct access to a covered outdoor terrace, creating a welcoming place for students and staff to enjoy lunch together.
Ground Floor & First Floor
In the pavilion, a welcoming reception area will provide secure access to both buildings. From here, students can walk through a glass corridor into the main building and head upstairs or continue straight down the hallway, where four classrooms are located. Two additional classrooms are in the main building.
Each classroom is equipped with modern multimedia technology, including projectors, and is purpose-designed for hands-on learning in subjects such as science, engineering (with 3D printing), laboratory work, and other specialized areas.

Second Floor – Main Building
The second floor includes three additional classrooms with balconies, as well as the school office.
Third Floor
The top floor has been designed with creativity and community in mind. It features a spacious atelier for art classes, creative projects, and smaller community events.
Outdoor Areas
The outdoor spaces have been designed to give students plenty of room to relax, play, and stay active. The playground offers a large open area for sports and games.
Behind the sports field, a grandstand with seating provides a place for students to enjoy snacks, and cheer on their classmates. The campus also includes a spacious garden, where students can unwind or take part in outdoor learning activities.
